Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork. Cheap Pete Rose Jersey .com) - After suffering just their second loss of the season and first in conference play, the 12th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish take to the road on Wednesday for an ACC showdown with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at McCamish Pavilion. Mike Breys Irish had an 11-game win streak halted last weekend, as they dropped a 62-56 decision to now second-ranked Virginia at Purcell Pavilion. The loss dropped Notre Dame to a still impressive 15-2 on the season, including a 3-1 mark in the ACC. Brian Gregorys Yellow Jackets have had an up and down season thus far. The team is 9-6 overall, but is still in search of its first conference win of the year, falling to 0-3 with Saturdays 76-69 loss at Wake Forest. Georgia Tech has now lost three straight games and four of its last five overall. Techs streak began with an 83-76 2OT loss at Notre Dame on Jan. 3. The Irish are seeking the regular-season sweep in this contest and now trail the all- time series with the Yellow Jackets by a 7-4 count. The usually explosive Irish were done in by the stingy Virginia Cavaliers last weekend, as Notre Dame was held to season-lows of 56 points and .339 shooting efficiency. While most of the roster struggled against Virginia, Pat Connaughton had a strong outing, posting 21 points and eight rebounds. Demetrius Jackson and V.J. Beachem each chipped in 12 points, but leading scorer Jerian Grant had a rough outing, going just 2-of-8 from the field and finishing with a mere six points. Although the Cavaliers smothered the Irish, it wasnt an anomaly as Virginia has done that to everyone this season. Despite the rather poor performance, Notre Dame is still regarded as one of the top offensive squads in the nation. The team leads the nation in field-goal percentage (..535), ranks fifth in scoring margin (+20.9) and second in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.66). Grant is a big part of that. The teams top playmaker, Grant is averaging 16.6 points, 3.9 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game. There is plenty of scoring depth behind him, as Zach Auguste (14.3 ppg), Connaughton (14.3 ppg) and Jackson (14.1 ppg) all have a knack for filling up the basket. Georgia Tech has certainly been competitive in conference play even if there are no wins to show for it. The Yellow Jackets took Notre Dame to two overtime sessions, lost to Syracuse by a single point (46-45) and dropped a seven-point decision on the road to Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons owned large advantages in rebounding (41-29) and free-throw scoring (19-8), two crucial facets of the game last time out. Still, four Yellow Jackets notched double digits in the loss in Winston-Salem, led by junior swingman Marcus Georges-Hunts 16 points. Senior center Demarco Cox poured in 14 points, while sophomore forward Quinton Stephens and junior forward Charles Mitchell finished with 13 and 12 points, respectively. The Yellow Jackets are fueled by solid defensive play this season, holding foes to just 63.7 ppg, while owning an impressive +9.4 rebounding margin. Offensively, there arent any game-changers on the roster. Georges-Hunt paces the team with 13.3 ppg, despite shooting a mere .406 from the field. Mitchell is a much more efficient .544 shooter, and averages 11.1 points and team-best 7.8 rebounds per game. Cox (9.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg) provides serviceable depth in the frontcourt. Jones, from Winnipeg, built a 3-0 advantage after three ends by scoring two in the second and one in the third. Chinas skip Bingyu Wang cut that lead to 3-1 in the fourth before Canada added another three in the fifth for a 6-1 lead. http://www.cheapredsjerseys.com/?tag=cheap-reggie-sanders-jersey . His absence against the Celtics comes a day after he scored 43 points in the Heats 100-96 win at Cleveland.ARLINGTON, Texas -- Jimmy Rollins had a grand slam during his memorable opening day for the Philadelphia Phillies, who needed a lot of runs to get usually reliable ace Cliff Lee a victory in his return to Texas. Rollins hit his 200th career homer and pinch-hitter John Mayberry Jr. had a tiebreaking two-run double that put the Phillies ahead for good in a wild 14-10 victory over the Rangers on Monday. Rollins matched Cal Ripkens major league record by starting his 14th consecutive opener at shortstop for the same franchise. He also became the 19th player in major league history with at least 400 doubles, 100 triples and 200 homers. "J-Roll, with the big pop early, just really set the tone and got things going," Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said. "I think it was contagious after that." The Phillies had 17 hits and their most runs in a season opener since 1900. It was more than enough to make up for a rough outing for Lee (1-0), who was unable to protect a 6-0 lead after Rollins homered in the second inning. Rollins, whose wife is expecting their second child, flew to Texas on Sunday, a day after the rest of the team did. "I didnt want to come here and then have to fly to Philadelphia," Rollins said. "The baby has let me go out and play ball for a few more days." Marlon Byrd and Cody Asche also homered for the Phillies, who beat the Boston Beaneaters 19-17 in their 1900 opener. Converted Rangers reliever Tanner Scheppers gave up seven runs over four innings. But the game was tied when Scheppers threw his last pitch. Mayberry, a first-round draft pick by the Rangers in 2005 who never played for the big league club and was traded three years later, got his tiebreaking hit in the fifth against Pedro Figueroa (0-1) for a 9-7 lead. Lee matched his career high by allowing eight runs and struck out only one, but the left-hander made it through five innings in another less-than-stellar opener for him in the Rangers home ballpark. "I dont like being on the pitching side of that, but fortunatelyy we outscored them and got the win, the main thing," said Lee, who had a solid spring. Cheap Reds Jerseys China. "Jimmy hitting that grand slam busted it open. And we kept adding it on and we needed it, as it turned out." Lee got a nice ovation before pitching in Texas for the first time since starting for the Rangers in Game 5 of the 2010 World Series. The lefty also made a season-opening start here for Cleveland in 2009, when the then-reigning AL Cy Young Award winner allowed seven runs over five innings in a 9-1 loss. With starters Yu Darvish, Matt Harrison and Derek Holland on the disabled list, Scheppers became the first pitcher since Fernando Valenzuela for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1981 to make his first career start on opening day. Scheppers, who had 76 relief appearances last season, struck out two and walked three. "I was extremely disappointed. You bear down there. My pitches were around the zone," Scheppers said. "I was just trying to be too fine with everything, trying to hit corners. Unfortunately, I put the guys in a big hole." Texas went ahead 7-6 on Alex Rios three-run homer in the third, but Philly got even in the fourth on Chase Utleys RBI single, the first of his three hits. Phillies leadoff hitter Ben Revere also had three hits, drove in three runs and scored twice. He hit .305 last season, but missed the entire second half with foot problems. NOTES: It was the earliest interleague game in MLB history. ... The front-row seat by the Rangers dugout where Nolan Ryan used to sit was occupied by former Rangers and Phillies player Michael Young, who retired during the off-season. ... The national anthem was performed by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, 20 years after they accompanied the late Van Cliburn, an award-winning classical pianist who lived in Fort Worth, for a stirring rendition before the first regular-season game ever played at the stadium. ... Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt holds the Phillies record for consecutive starts on opening day with 16 (1974-89). ' ' '
